What's the endgame? ArrayPatch is building DerMap, a dissolving microneedle patch platform designed to deliver medicines through the skin without needles. Its lead program, GLP-DerMap, aims to deliver GLP-1 obesity and diabetes drugs via a pain-free patch.

The company says its microneedles are made entirely from the medicine being delivered, requiring no polymer and allowing higher drug loading. The platform can carry both small molecules and peptides.

What's the money for? The proceeds will accelerate progress toward first-in-human studies, with GLP-DerMap the priority. Other programs target basal cell carcinoma and onychomycosis, a nail fungal infection.

Who else is in? The round also drew Spark Venture Funding, Dr. Mark Ledwidge, DeepIE VenturesDealroom has a profile for this one. "The successful completion of our €3.2 million seed round is an important milestone for ArrayPatch and provides the resources to accelerate the development of our pipeline," said founder and chief executive officer Dr. Waleed Faisal.

By the numbers: The raise sits in the 93rd percentile among seed rounds in Irish health startups over the trailing 48 months, based on a sample of 62 deals. ArrayPatch was spun out from University College Cork.

The signal: Microneedle drug delivery is drawing investor attention, with US-based Anodyne Nanotech raising $12.6 million in a 2026 Series A to deliver GLP-1 and other biologics. For ArrayPatch, the test ahead is less about round size than whether its patches can prove clinical efficacy and a real delivery edge.
