Orbs backs Crymbo to help banks launch crypto services under their own licenses
What's the deal? Layer-3 network developer Orbs has made a strategic early-stage investment in CrymboDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a financial infrastructure platform that helps licensed institutions bring digital asset services to market under their own brands and regulatory frameworks. Neither company disclosed the amount.
What does Crymbo do? It acts as an orchestration layer for digital asset services, connecting institutions to more than 75 providers across custody, liquidity, banking rails, payments, identity verification, and transaction monitoring through a single integration. Crucially, it holds neither client funds nor private keys, letting banks keep control of customer relationships and compliance.
By the numbers: Crymbo is already live with licensed institutions and has processed more than $2 billion in transaction volume. Its ISO 27001-certified infrastructure supports rules including the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) and the Financial Action Task Force's Travel Rule.
Why Orbs? The deal complements Orbs' focus on decentralized trading and execution, which spans spot trading, perpetual futures, and on-chain execution services. Its technology has facilitated more than $14 billion in cumulative trading volume.
What they're saying: Crymbo founder and chief executive officer Eyal Daskal said the investment "reflects the maturity of the market and technology," adding that Orbs would help it "scale its business and reach more customers." Orbs chief executive officer Ran Hammer called Crymbo's compliance, identity, and operational capabilities complementary to Orbs' trading technology.
The signal: As traditional institutions eye on-chain markets, attention is shifting from trading rails to the back-office plumbing — identity, compliance, custody, and settlement — needed to operate in regulated environments. Orbs' bet positions the two firms as interconnected pieces of an emerging institutional on-chain stack.
