Supa raises £21M seed to modernise block property management

What's the deal? UK property management startup SupaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has raised £21 million in seed funding to expand its AI software across an industry long resistant to technology. The round was co-led by early-stage investors 2150Dealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and OpenOceanDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, with backing from KOMPAS VCDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, Actia Capital PartnersDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, and HEARTFELT. Part of the round is debt from an undisclosed provider.

What's the endgame? Supa builds software that handles administrative tasks tied to managing blocks of flats, such as repair scheduling, safety checks, and coordinating contractors. It has acquired seven local managing agents to date, keeping their names while layering in its AI. The portfolio now spans more than 20,000 homes.

Why now? The raise follows average service charges for leaseholders in England and Wales passing £200 a month, even as many agents fail to deliver basic service. "Residents are paying more every year and too often getting less," said founder Calum Brannan.

Brannan and co-founder Alexis Johnson previously built digital property startup Howsy, which they sold to estate agent Dexters in 2022. Supa will use the funds for further acquisitions, hiring, and technology.

By the numbers: The round ranks among the largest UK seed deals on record, above the 99th percentile across 17,496 comparable rounds.

The signal: Investors are betting that AI can finally reach slow-moving, service-heavy sectors. Supa is "one of the clearest examples of AI improving a real-world service at scale," said OpenOcean partner Sam Hields.
