What's the deal? TechcombankDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, Vietnam's Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank, raised VND 4,000 billion (about $155 million) through two bond tranches disclosed to the Hanoi Stock ExchangeDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. Both carry a three-year term and an 8.8% annual coupon.

The details: On October 29, 2026, the bank issued 3,000 bonds under ticker TCBL12617 at VND 1 billion each, totalling VND 3,000 billion and maturing October 29, 2029. A day later it issued the VND 1,000 billion TCBL12618 tranche, due October 30, 2029.

What's missing: Techcombank did not disclose bondholders, the purpose of the issuance, or any collateral.

By the numbers: The raise lands as Techcombank posted record results. Q3 2026 pre-tax profit hit VND 10,375 billion, up 25.8% year on year — its highest-ever quarterly figure. Over nine months, operating income rose 17.1% to VND 45,204 billion and net profit climbed 21.3% to VND 23,014 billion.

Why now? The issue fits a pattern: Techcombank tapped the domestic bond market with a VND 3.5 trillion issuance in May 2026, and Vietnamese banks remain major bond issuers. But borrowing has grown costlier, with average bank bond coupons reaching about 8.85% in Q3 2026 — near or above the 2022 peak.

The signal: For a bank of Techcombank's scale — total assets of VND 1.3 trillion as of September 30, up 16.7% year on year — a VND 4,000 billion raise reads as routine funding rather than a distinctive milestone. Without disclosed coupon economics beyond the headline rate or capital treatment, the issuance underscores steady access to debt markets as refinancing needs across Vietnam's banking sector build.
