What does it do? Shita develops electronic skin built on flexible photonic-crystal materials that sense touch by changing colour under pressure. The company says its skin can be thinner than 1mm, with a sensing density above 10,000 points per square centimetre, suited to applications such as robotic dexterous hands.

What's the money for? The round will fund product research and iteration, plus commercialisation. Shita is targeting embodied intelligence, consumer electronics, and industrial use cases.

The signal: Tactile sensing is becoming a focus area as robotics firms chase finer manipulation for humanoid and dexterous systems. Hubble's involvement signals that Huawei's investment arm sees electronic skin as a building block for that push.
