ECOPATH raises $237K seed to scale zero-cement concrete against US$5.43M order book

What's the deal? Bengaluru-based ECOPATH has raised US$305.6K in a seed round from Social AlphaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and GemcorpDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. The climate-tech startup makes zero-cement concrete for roads, precast products and infrastructure.

What's the endgame? Founded in 2024 by Sourabh Kumar and Abhishek Chhazed, ECOPATH uses industrial by-products — including steel-industry waste — and proprietary binders to replace cement-heavy construction. Its materials also skip conventional water-based curing.

The capital will expand precast manufacturing capacity, strengthen supply chains, grow the team and fund research and development. ECOPATH plans to scale across five markets: Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai and Mumbai.

By the numbers. ECOPATH reports an order book exceeding US$5.43M and more than 40 paying commercial customers, including Lodha, Tata PowerDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, Jindal Steel, Emmvee Solar and RV University. Its product range spans pavers, kerbstones, slabs, blocks and ready-mix concrete.

Why it matters. The company says its materials cut carbon emissions by roughly 75% versus conventional cement, depending on the application. Its paver installations at RV University's Mysore campus are estimated to have avoided about 130 tonnes of CO2; a deployment at Emmvee Solar is projected to avoid more than 2,000 tonnes on completion.

What could go wrong? The seed round is small against the order book, so the open question is whether ECOPATH can expand production and convert orders into deliveries and revenue. The 75% emissions figure is company-reported, and adoption of cement alternatives hinges on reliable supply, product standards and buyer confidence.

The signal: The round reflects rising investor interest in India's industrial-waste-based, lower-carbon building materials — CarbonStrongDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → raised US$1.7M in August to build its first plant. With cement a major source of industrial emissions, ECOPATH's commercial traction is a promising marker, not yet proof of scale.
