Czech IT group K2 buys 51% of AI-first studio Blaze

What's the deal? Ostrava-based IT group K2 has acquired a 51% stake in BlazeDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a local software studio that builds custom applications using AI agents instead of traditional programming. The price was not disclosed. After the deal, founders retain the rest: Dobroslav Vlček holds 20%, Jan Netolička and Daniel Suchan 13% each, and Jakub Pilch 3%.

What do they do? K2 develops enterprise systems for medium and large companies and employs more than 300 people. Blaze, founded five years ago as an "AI First Software Studio," reported turnover above CZK 10 million and works for billion-crown corporations.

The model: Blaze hands much of the build to the customer. "Around 80% of application development is now done by clients themselves. They pay us for the remaining 20%," said chief executive officer Jan Netolička, who is 24. He says the approach cuts delivery times from months to days.

Why now? Blaze says demand for startup projects has fallen as clients learned AI skills, pushing it towards manufacturing, wholesale and corporate data work. The tie-up gives Blaze access to K2's data-centre infrastructure and large client base, while K2 gains an AI-first team and faster delivery.

What's the endgame? K2 posted consolidated turnover of nearly CZK 700 million last year and aims to pass CZK 1 billion within three years, partly through acquisitions. Alongside Blaze, it recently took a majority stake in Olomouc ERP developer Vision SoftwareDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, completed its takeover of Unibase Software, and absorbed Sluno.

The signal: The deal reflects a wider enterprise-software trend of buyers acquiring AI and automation capabilities to strengthen existing platforms, rather than treating AI as a separate bet. For K2, it is a practical local capability buy — pairing established clients in manufacturing, logistics and supply chains with a team built around language models.
