Colombian fintech Fronte raises pre-seed to build credit for cross-border families

What's the endgame? Fronte is building what it calls a financial operating system for transnational families, treating the household — not the individual — as the unit of account. Its core product, Frontéalo, organises recurring expenses like rent, utilities, education, and healthcare across multiple contributors in different countries.

Why now? Founder Hayden Simmons argues financial products still resolve to individuals and transactions, even though migration is a household-level strategy. Fronte surveyed nearly 1,000 remittance-receiving households and found two-thirds relied on at least two contributors, while 46% had been denied credit despite regular financial support.

The aim is to turn that shared payment history into credit and broader financial access typically out of reach for these families. When a contributor is late, the system can prompt others to cover the cost or switch payment methods.

What could go wrong? Fronte is early and unproven, and the undisclosed round size limits what can be read into it. Its success hinges on turning informal family support into reliable financial data and responsible lending.

The signal: The round sits in a growing Latin American fintech segment focused on cross-border finance, with Colombia receiving a record $13.09 billion in remittances in 2025. More than $685 billion in recorded remittances flows into low- and middle-income countries each year — and Fronte is betting the opportunity lies around the family, not the transfer.
