What's the deal? GranterDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Portuguese startup that uses AI to simplify access to European funding, has raised €1.6 million in an early-stage round. The round was co-led by 3xP GlobalDealroom has a profile for this one. How big is it? The raise sits in the lower tier of early-stage European rounds, around the 38th percentile by amount. It lifts Granter's total funding to €2 million, building on €400,000 raised earlier from Techstars, MissionDealroom has a profile for this one. What's the endgame? Founded in 2023, Granter deploys AI agents to help companies find funding opportunities, prepare applications, and manage approved projects. Clients include ANA AeroportosDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, Galp, the Portuguese Navy, and FidelidadeDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →; the startup says it has supported more than 140 companies applying for over €30 million in funding.

Where next? The money will fund product work and more than double the team by year-end. Portugal remains the main market, but Granter plans to expand into Spain, Germany, and Italy, where it already has investors and early commercial ties. The US is a medium-term priority.

The product: Alongside the raise, Granter is relaunching its AI Grant Consultant with a chat-based interface. Each organisation talks directly to an AI agent to identify funding, draft applications, and manage projects.

Why them? Granter won the PITCH startup competition at Web Summit in November 2025, then closed the round within weeks. "The choice of 3xP Global's Impact Innovation Fund as lead investor was natural," said chief executive officer Bernardo Seixas, adding that thousands of companies miss out on public funding "not for lack of merit, but because they don't have the time, team, or knowledge to face bureaucratic and complex processes" (translated from Portuguese).

The signal: Granter is betting that AI can crack a market defined by paperwork — national and European grant programmes with demanding application processes. The expansion plan is still a plan, though: the test will be adapting to each country's rules and winning customers beyond Portugal.
