Zerow raises €1M to help luxury brands manage unsold stock under new EU rules

What's the deal? ZerowDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Florence-based fashion-tech startup, has raised about €1 million in seed funding to expand its platform for managing surplus stock in the luxury sector. The round combines a €400,000 private bridge, backed by Italian and international angels and funds, with public money from Smart&Start ItaliaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and the Tuscany Region.

What's the endgame? Founded in 2021, Zerow runs a B2B platform that connects fashion houses, manufacturers, and designers to reintegrate unused fabrics, leather, and components into production. The new capital will fund proprietary software for inventory management and compliance, plus hiring and commercial expansion across Europe and the US.

Why now? On July 19, 2026, an EU ban on large companies destroying unsold clothing, accessories, and footwear took effect under the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation. That creates immediate demand for brands to redirect surplus stock through resale, donation, or reuse — the problem Zerow addresses.

By the numbers: Zerow reported 206% year-on-year revenue growth in the first half of 2026. It posted €500,000 in revenue in 2025 and projects €1.5 million for 2026, with a network of 4,000 buyers — half based abroad — and more than 1,000 circular-economy partners.

Chief executive officer and co-founder Gabriele Rorandelli said the raise confirms that the shift to circular models "is no longer an optional choice, but a concrete industrial necessity."

The signal: The round is modest, but it reflects how new EU regulation is turning sustainability from an ambition into an operational requirement for luxury brands. Zerow's significance will depend on converting that regulatory tailwind and its growing network into sustained paid adoption — the funding alone does not establish market leadership.
