LvlUp Ventures backs pre-revenue college sports data startup Tosch.ai

What's the deal? LvlUp VenturesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has invested in Tosch.ai, an Andover, Massachusetts startup that collects and standardizes college sports statistics, the firm said in a post published October 29, 2026. Tosch.ai pulls team, athlete, and coaching data from about 2,000 US colleges and universities into one platform. LvlUp described the company as pre-revenue.

What's the endgame? The platform covers 13 sports — including football, basketball, soccer, baseball, and lacrosse — across the NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA, 3C2A, and NWAC, with data back to the 2021 season. Founder and chief executive officer Shawne Robinson has described the goal as "a Bloomberg for college sports," according to LvlUp.

How it makes money: Tosch.ai sells subscriptions to athletes, families, counselors, coaches, athletic directors, and agents. It charges individual users $49.99 a month or $500 a year, and professionals $6,500 a year, Axios reported. Robinson started the company with his son, Myles, after learning Myles had picked his college soccer program on gut feeling.

Why now? LvlUp argued the stakes of choosing a program have risen with name, image, and likeness deals, a busier transfer portal, and the House v. NCAA settlement. A federal judge approved that settlement on June 6, 2025, allowing schools to pay athletes directly — up to $20.5 million a year each from the 2025-26 season — plus $2.8 billion in back pay.

What could go wrong? The data students need is scattered across thousands of sites in different formats, which LvlUp said makes clean, standardized data hard to build and maintain. Larger rivals are also moving in: recruiting platform Scorability raised $40 million and acquired RyzerDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, while Opendorse has built substantial NIL deal data.

The signal: As athlete pay and mobility reshape college sports, information about programs is becoming more consequential — and LvlUp's bet is an early wager that someone can standardize a fragmented market before better-funded competitors do.
