What's the deal? Brazilian fintech BloquoDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has raised US$5.12M in a seed round co-led by Crescera CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and Triaxis CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, with Lattice CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and other investors participating. The company builds financial infrastructure based on stablecoins for banks and businesses.
Why now? It is Bloquo's first institutional venture capital raise, following a 2025 pre-seed round backed by angel investors. Founded in 2024, the startup says it now serves 125 active institutional clients with an annualised transaction volume of $2 billion.
What's the endgame? Bloquo integrates payments, liquidity provisioning, and digital settlement rails so institutions can run cross-border payments with regulatory governance. The fresh capital will fund five areas: regulatory capital for its Brazilian operation, licences, product and technology, hiring, and commercial expansion.
The company plans to accelerate three lines over the coming months: liquidity provisioning in stablecoins, payments orchestration for international transactions, and VASP-as-a-Service, which lets banks, brokers, and exchanges offer stablecoin services on Bloquo's infrastructure.
Bloquo operates in both Brazil and the US. It has applied to register with Brazil's central bank as a virtual asset broker and is registered as a Money Services Business with the US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN).
"This round doesn't change Bloquo's thesis, but it gives us the resources to execute it at another scale," said chief executive officer Carlos Russo (translated from Portuguese). "In just over a year, we've proven there is relevant institutional demand for stablecoin infrastructure."
The signal: The US$5.12M round stands out against recent cheques tied to Crescera and Triaxis — the firms put US$1.02M into healthtech DIO Inteligência in May — suggesting a larger-scale bet. It also reflects growing institutional appetite in Brazil for stablecoin rails, as regulators build out a framework for virtual assets.
