Argentina's Credicuotas raises $30M in bond sale, tops $100M for 2026
What's the deal? Argentine fintech CredicuotasDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has raised more than $30 million through a new issuance of negotiable obligations, a debt instrument that lets companies tap investors via capital markets. The operation pushes the company past $100 million raised so far in 2026.
What does the company do? Credicuotas specialises in consumer lending, offering personal loans approved in minutes and contracted entirely online through its web and app. It also finances purchases at merchants and is one of Argentina's leading financiers of motorcycle sales.
Why now? The issuance came amid tougher conditions for the financial market, yet again drew investor backing. It is the company's second bond sale in roughly four months, following a record $33 million raise in May 2025.
What's the endgame? Credicuotas is leaning on capital markets to fund its consumer-credit business, projecting at least 50% more loans issued in 2026. In August, ratings agency FIX SCR affirmed its long-term rating at A+(arg) with a stable outlook, on par with some Argentine banks.
"We are debuting our A+ credit rating issued by FIX SCR, which positions us as one of the most solid entities in the entire financial system," said Ezequiel Weisstaub, co-founder and chief executive officer of Credicuotas (translated from Spanish).
What could go wrong? Digital credit is expanding in Argentina while household repayment capacity weakens. The IMF has warned about deteriorating credit quality in consumer loans, and Reuters reported that household delinquency hit record highs in 2026.
The signal: Repeated access to the capital markets signals investor confidence in Credicuotas, now part of Grupo BIND with more than 700,000 clients and over 20 issuances to date. But its significance will hinge on whether it can expand credit without worsening default risk.
