New fund

Everwood lands €100M from EIF for sixth renewables fund

What's the deal? Spanish private equity manager Everwood CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has secured a €100 million commitment from the European Investment Fund (EIF), part of the European Investment Bank, for its sixth renewables vehicle. The fund, Everwood Energy Fund VI, targets €500 million and will invest in energy transition assets across southern Europe.

Who's backing it? The EIF, which committed through its Climate & Infrastructure instrument, was already a cornerstone investor in Everwood's fifth fund with €50 million. It has now doubled that stake. The commitment covers one-fifth of the new fund's target.

What's the endgame? Everwood plans 10 to 15 greenfield investments, with tickets of roughly €30 million to €80 million each. Targets include organic waste valorisation and advanced biomethane, standalone and hybridised batteries, solar plants in Italy and Spain, and energy solutions for data centres. The fund already holds a pipeline of waste and biomethane projects under exclusivity.

What could go wrong? The EIF commitment is conditional on Spain's securities regulator, the CNMV, approving the fund's prospectus — a step expected in the coming days.

"Having a leading institutional investor like the EIF reinforces our conviction that we can generate attractive returns for our investors," said José Antonio Urquizu, Everwood founding partner (translated from Spanish). Fellow founding partner Alfredo Fernández added that the commitment followed "an exhaustive due diligence process on the manager and the fund's strategy" (translated from Spanish).

The signal: Everwood's raise reflects continued public backing for climate infrastructure in Europe, where the EIF holds a mandate to finance renewables, storage, and hybrid projects. Biomethane and storage are drawing sustained capital — RGREEN INVESTDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → closed a nearly €500 million fund with similar exposure in June. The size and continuity of the EIF's support stand out, though the vehicle is not yet fully raised.
