What's the endgame? Founded in 2017, Freeinu builds complete drones plus core components — flight control systems, communication equipment, and ground control systems. It makes fixed-wing VTOL, helicopter-type rotary wing, and multicopter aircraft, and the funding will push into heavy long-endurance airframes and platform-based services. The company is accelerating plans for an initial public offering next year.
Why now? Freeinu's defense traction is building. Last year the military confirmed the suitability of its battalion-level helicopter-type drones; this year it won a contract to supply training drones under a 500,000 drone warrior program.
By the numbers: Sales climbed from roughly US$3.35M in US$1.7B to US$9.47M in 2025, and the company aims to double year-on-year growth again this year.
Freeinu calls itself the only South Korean firm with full unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) design, manufacturing, and development capability. Its technology spans NON-GPS autonomous navigation and self-developed avionics, and it is jointly developing combat drones with Hanwha AerospaceDealroom has a profile for this one.
