Wrapped Health raises $2.1M to turn doctor advice into one-tap orders

What's the deal? Wrapped HealthDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has raised $2.1 million in pre-seed funding, the digital health startup announced on October 29. The round was co-led by LightbankDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and Arteria Capital, the healthcare AI fund founded by former Headspace chief executive Russell Glass.

What's the endgame? Wrapped connects clinical care to consumer purchases, letting clinicians send patients provider-reviewed over-the-counter product recommendations directly from the electronic health record (EHR). Retailers handle checkout and fulfillment; patients can also apply FSA/HSA benefits. The money will fund product and engineering work, additional EHR integrations, and partnerships with providers and health systems.

Why now? The company launched in June, integrated with athenahealth, and is available through the athenahealth Marketplace. Integrations with EpicDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, ModMed, and eClinicalWorks are planned but not yet live.

By the numbers: The startup is targeting a gap it says most care channels ignore. It cites that 90% of consumers have had a physician recommend an OTC treatment, while Americans spend nearly $124 billion a year on OTC medicines and non-durable medical products, according to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

What they're saying: "Patients can buy almost anything with one click, except the products their doctor tells them they need," said co-founder and chief executive Max Russell-Harris. Lightbank partner Eric Ong framed the pitch bluntly: "The doctor's 'go buy this' walks out the door on a sticky note."

What could go wrong? At $2.1 million, the round sits near the middle of comparable pre-seed deals rather than the top. Wrapped's significance will depend on whether it can prove adoption and expand beyond athenahealth to the EHR systems it has yet to go live on.

The signal: This is an early bet on a specific workflow, not evidence of a sector-wide funding wave. Wrapped is wagering that the missing link in digitised healthcare is not more care delivery, but the simple step of helping patients buy what their doctor already told them to.
