ShareWillow raises $8.5M to tie trades pay to performance

What's the deal? ShareWillowDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has raised $8.5 million in seed funding to help home-service contractors design and manage incentive pay for technicians, founder Ryan Shank told Axios Pro. The round ranks above the 96th percentile for all-time seed deals in US real estate, a sign of investor appetite for the niche.

Why now? Home-services firms face a staffing crunch: more than 20% of technicians quit each year, and the sector expects 2.1 million open trades jobs by 2030. Contractors need to pay technicians enough to keep them without eroding margins.

What's the endgame? ShareWillow makes earnings visible job by job, tying bonuses to real work and paying them out fast. It aims to become the technician's "financial home," adding cards, payroll, and banking alongside its AI teammate, Willow.

By the numbers: The company says it paid technicians $2 million in September and more than $10 million over the past year, 11 times the prior year. Technicians earn $1,334 more per month on average, it says.

How it works: ShareWillow is a certified partner on the ServiceTitan App Marketplace, syncing jobs, technicians, and payroll data so incentive plans run on real numbers. That gives it a route into an existing trades-software ecosystem.

The seven-person startup, led by Shank, who previously sold PhoneWagonDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, reports 8× revenue growth over 18 months.

The signal: The raise is a focused bet on performance-pay tools for a hard-to-staff sector, rather than evidence of a broader funding surge. With few directly comparable deals, ShareWillow is building for a labor-market problem that hourly pay has failed to solve.
