Bubalus raises $2.11M to fund Skyline copper-gold acquisition in Tasmania

What's the deal? Bubalus Resources has secured firm commitments to raise US$1.94M (≈$2.11 million) via a share placement at US$0.05 per share, a 15.7% discount to its last traded price. Existing and new institutional investors, along with directors, backed the round.

Where does the money go? Proceeds, alongside existing cash, will fund the cash component of Bubalus's proposed Skyline Copper-Gold Project acquisition in western Tasmania, initial exploration programs, and general working capital.

What's the endgame? The deal shifts the Perth-based explorer further toward copper-gold, anchoring a portfolio that also spans rare earths, lithium, and manganese across Australia. Skyline sits in the Mount Read district, about 10km from Mt Lyell, whose restart Sibanye-StillwaterDealroom has a profile for this one. The seller's stake: Bubalus is buying Skyline from CopperCorp ResourcesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → for US$1.94M initial consideration — US$647.1K cash and US$1.29M in shares. On completion, CopperCorp's group is expected to hold about 19.95% of Bubalus. A further US$970.6K is contingent on a qualifying resource containing at least 200,000 tonnes of copper equivalent within five years.

What could go wrong? Skyline remains an exploration bet with no defined resource, and Bubalus plans roughly 4,000m of drilling. The acquisition still hinges on capital raising completion, shareholder consents, TSXV acceptance, and licence transfers.

The signal: For a company with a US$3.75M market cap, the placement is less a production milestone than a financing step for a strategic pivot — a bid to ride demand for copper and critical minerals in a proven mining district.
