What does it do? Founded in March 2022, Sukos develops and makes plating and wet-process equipment for advanced semiconductor packaging. It is one of few domestic Chinese firms to reach volume production of large-panel TGV plating equipment, with product lines spanning cup plating, TGV, and wet-process systems.
Where's the money going? The company said the funds will support capacity expansion for large-panel TGV plating equipment, next-generation wet-process R&D, and market development. Reports add that proceeds also cover a Huzhou production base.
What's the endgame? Sukos began volume shipments of TGV plating equipment in 2025. Its systems handle 8-inch and 300mm wafer plating as well as 510×515mm glass-substrate via filling, and it has completed process validation with several domestic TGV substrate makers.
What could go wrong? The round lands as glass-substrate and advanced-packaging supply chains ramp up, but large-scale commercialisation remains early, with most mass-production timelines pointing years out. The modest sum funds expansion and customer validation; it does not by itself signal order wins or a production breakthrough.
The signal: At roughly $6 million, the deal sits around the 54th percentile for comparable rounds — mid-pack rather than a standout. It reflects steady domestic investment in TGV and glass-substrate tooling as China builds out its advanced-packaging equipment base.
