Biodelphis lands $121K FIT loan to advance targeted osteoporosis drug

What's the deal? Biodelphis TherapeuticsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has secured a US$91.7K Tech Seed loan from the Foundation for Innovation and Technology (FIT). The EPFL spinout was one of three Vaud startups backed on October 28, 2026, alongside PolaSightDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and Swiss SoilDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, which each received the same amount.

What's the endgame? Biodelphis is developing antibody-peptide inhibitor conjugates that deliver drugs only to the cells that break down bone, sparing healthy tissue. Five earlier cathepsin K drugs were discontinued in development, including one in final-phase trials due to a raised stroke risk, because they acted throughout the body.

What's the money for? The loan will fund work to show its osteoporosis treatment does not increase stroke risk, plus an initial study of how the drug behaves in the body. Those steps precede the first human trials. Biodelphis is applying the same approach to lung cancer.

Why now? The award follows an oversubscribed seed round closed in March 2026 and US$137.5K in non-dilutive Venture KickDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → funding in May, which brought total funding to US$1.01M. In May, it also signed a manufacturing agreement with HAS Healthcare Advanced Synthesis to support development toward clinical evaluation.

The fine print: FIT's Tech Seed loans are interest-free, repayable over seven years, with a conversion option on part of the loan. They are milestone-focused instruments rather than conventional venture rounds.

The signal: FIT has continued issuing US$91.7K seed awards to early-stage Vaud startups throughout 2026, reflecting an active regional support pipeline. For Biodelphis, the loan is practical de-risking; commercial validation and follow-on financing remain ahead.
