Finland's Auroora buys roofing-coatings importer Coating Source, adding €6M in sales

What's the deal? Auroora GroupDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has agreed to acquire a majority stake in Coating Source Oy, a Finnish importer of professional roofing paints and coatings. The price was not disclosed. Based in Jyväskylä and founded in 2006, Coating Source imports from European manufacturers and sells directly to hundreds of contractors across Finland.

What changes? The deal adds a new product area to Auroora's Industrial Products and Services segment. Founder Timo Bygdén will stay on as a shareholder and managing director. Completion is subject to customary closing conditions and expected in November 2026.

By the numbers: Coating Source generated roughly €6 million in revenue in its most recent financial year, with what Auroora calls a "solid level of profitability." For context, Auroora posted net sales of €205.2 million and adjusted EBITA of €13.5 million in 2025.

Why now? Auroora points to demand tied to Finland's aging building stock. "Finland's building stock is aging, and we see growth opportunities in the market for roof maintenance and coatings," said Sami Savolainen, business director at Auroora.

What's the endgame? Auroora is a serial acquirer that runs a buy-and-build model, keeping founders as co-owners and letting companies retain their identity. The group comprises more than 20 SMEs and over 850 employees across three segments. "Auroora's model, in which the entrepreneur can remain an owner and the company retains its own identity, immediately felt like the right fit for us," Bygdén said.

The signal: The purchase is a modest, adjacent addition to a rapidly expanding portfolio rather than a transformative move. It follows a run of recent deals, including Rasmix and Suomen Teknohaus, and an agreement just a day earlier to acquire the Labko wastewater business — underscoring the pace of Auroora's acquisition machine.
