Scutum buys Spain's GSS Security to push into Valencia
What's the deal? French group ScutumDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has acquired GSS Security, a Spanish security services firm founded in 2007, for an undisclosed sum. GSS folds into Scutum Iberia, the group's Spanish arm, strengthening its footprint in Madrid and Catalonia. Barcelona M&A boutique Capittal Transacciones advised Scutum on the deal.
What's the endgame? GSS provides tailored, technology-backed security to small and medium businesses, large enterprises, logistics operators, and the public sector. The deal extends Scutum Iberia's reach into the Valencian Community, adding to its presence in Barcelona and the Balearic Islands.
Why now? Scutum says it is accelerating its Spanish expansion. "Their knowledge and experience will be a valuable contribution to the group now that we are accelerating our growth and strengthening our presence in Spain," said Franck Namy, chief executive officer of Scutum Group (translated from Spanish).
What else? The acquisition comes months after Scutum integrated Catalonia's Grupo NiX, another deal Capittal advised on. Founded in France in 1989, Scutum Group operates in 15 countries with more than 3,300 professionals. Cuatrecasas and Eight Advisory also advised Scutum.
GSS chief executive officer Iván Roig framed the move around continuity: "In Scutum we have found a partner that respects what we have built, values our people, and shares our vision and our way of understanding the business" (translated from Spanish).
The expansion angle: Scutum entered Spain in 2023 via TEB Ibérica and has since absorbed APT Instalaciones, Grupo SEA, and Kosmos. In December 2025 it launched Scutum Iberia with more than 120 specialists and national coverage. GSS adds video surveillance and access control capabilities to that network.
The signal: The deal reflects rapid roll-up in a Spanish security sector that remains fragmented and heavy with founder-led companies. Scutum's steady buying spree — paired with promised 2026 investment — points to a bid for scale through consolidation rather than organic growth.
