Nyrada tops up $12M raise with $513K retail plan for heart-attack drug
What's the deal? NyradaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, an ASX-listed clinical-stage biotech, has completed a securities purchase plan (SPP) that raised US$472.4K before costs. It will issue 1,174,004 new CDIs at US$0.4 each on October 30, 2026, with ASX trading set to begin November 2.
Why now? The SPP followed close on the heels of a far larger raise: in September 2026, Nyrada secured US$7.76M through a placement on the same US$0.4 terms. The retail plan let eligible CDI holders buy in on identical terms, up to US$19.4K each.
What's the endgame? The money funds Xolatryp, a small-molecule inhibitor targeting TRPC3/6/7 ion channels. Nyrada has finished a Phase I trial and launched its Phase IIa PROTECT-MI study in heart-attack patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention, with preliminary results expected in the second half of 2027.
Participants receive three options for every four CDIs subscribed, each exercisable at US$0.6 and expiring September 25, 2028. In total, 9,197,050 attaching options will be issued on October 30, including 8,316,537 tied to the September placement.
What could go wrong? The SPP had targeted up to US$1.29M but fell well short, a sign retail-holder participation lagged. The undershoot does not materially change the overall financing, which remains anchored by the US$7.76M placement.
Chair John Moore thanked shareholders, saying the SPP gave holders the chance "to participate in the capital raise on the same terms as placement participants." He added that Nyrada is "well-capitalized to advance Xolatryp® development."
The signal: A quick re-raise so soon after a major placement shows Nyrada moving to extend its runway through a capital-intensive mid-stage trial. For small biotechs, topping up with retail money is a low-friction way to stretch funding as clinical milestones approach.
