FundApps, SteelEye merge into RegSensus to monitor $30T in assets

What's the deal? Regulatory technology firms FundAppsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and SteelEye have merged to form RegSensus, a new company focused on regulatory intelligence and compliance. The merger, backed by FTV CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, was completed in September 2026; terms were undisclosed.

What does each bring? FundApps contributes 16 years of regulatory monitoring and reporting; SteelEye adds nine years in trade and communications surveillance. Combined, RegSensus serves 400 financial institutions across more than 30 countries, monitoring $30 trillion in assets.

What's the endgame? RegSensus aims to consolidate scattered compliance tools into a single platform and standardise how firms read global rules. It is also extending FundApps' regulatory monitoring into trade and communications surveillance, applying AI to automate routine work.

"Investment firms rarely win a mandate on compliance, but plenty lose one on it," said Frederic Ceyte, chief executive officer of RegSensus. He argued that firms should compete "on performance and service, not on how they each interpret the same regulations."

Why now? Financial institutions are rethinking the cost of fragmented compliance infrastructure. Years of buying point solutions have left many managing obligations across multiple providers and datasets, while longer trading hours and diverging rules add pressure on compliance teams.

What could go wrong? The launch is chiefly a rebrand and integration milestone, not a new product rollout. Its value will depend on whether RegSensus can connect the two product sets in practice and convince clients that one platform simplifies compliance without disrupting existing services.

The signal: The merger fits a wider consolidation push in compliance technology. In 2026, LSEG launched trade-surveillance products, BloombergDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → expanded AI-enabled communications surveillance, and MCODealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → added tools spanning trade and employee communications — all betting that firms want fewer, broader systems.
