Nuuri raises £550,000 to scale its UK nursery-finder platform
What's the deal? NuuriDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, an Edinburgh startup building a platform to help UK parents discover and enrol children in nurseries, has raised £550,000 (≈$733,267) in a round led by SyndicateRoom's Access Fund. Former Skyscanner chief financial officer Shane CorstorphineDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → also backed the round, which closed on October 1, 2026.
Why now? UK families continue to report difficulty securing nursery places and understanding fees. In May 2026, the government asked the Competition and Markets Authority to examine hidden charges in funded childcare and began piloting a childcare-finder map — underscoring the access and information gap Nuuri targets.
By the numbers: Since launching in May 2025, Nuuri has onboarded more than 700 nurseries and reports average month-on-month revenue growth of 34% over the past 12 months. It has grown from three to seven staff and follows a £275,000 pre-seed round announced in July 2025.
What's the endgame? The capital will fund a consumer app slated for Q2 2027 that consolidates nursery discovery and enrolment, plus a fintech layer to help parents manage fees. Nuuri will also expand its business-to-business software for nursery operators and has promoted Yan San to chief technology officer.
What they said: "Nuuri is tackling a critical inefficiency in the UK childcare market with a clear, tech-driven solution," said Graham Schwikkard, chief executive officer of SyndicateRoom. Chief executive officer Steven Clarke called the backing "a tremendous vote of confidence."
The signal: At £550,000, the round sits in roughly the 61st percentile for size — modest but above the midpoint for early-stage deals. It reflects investor appetite for digital services addressing persistent consumer pain points, though the available context does not point to a broader wave of nursery-platform investment.
