Alset AI launches $571K private placement to shore up AI portfolio

What's the deal? Alset AI Ventures has launched a non-brokered private placement to raise between US$476.7K and US$586.7K (roughly $571,000 at the top end) through a share-and-warrant offering. The TSX Venture-listed firm is selling up to 4,000,000 units at US$0.15 each, with each unit including one common share and half a warrant exercisable at US$0.22 over 24 months.

Why now? The raise follows a US$513.3K placement in December 2025 and a loan facility of up to US$2.2M, US$671K of which had been advanced. Alset's June 2026 accounts showed just US$129.1K in cash against US$1.09M in current liabilities, making the financing relevant to near-term liquidity.

What's the endgame? Alset positions itself as a listed platform giving investors exposure to private and early-stage AI companies. It plans to use the proceeds for follow-on investments in portfolio companies, operations, select new AI deals, and a working capital reserve.

The portfolio spans AI infrastructure, healthcare AI, enterprise applications, and strategic assets, and includes Lyken.AIDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, FingerMotion, and CHIP Data CentersDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. Portfolio carrying value reached US$6.47M as of June 30, 2026, up 164.8% from US$2.44M nine months earlier.

What could go wrong? Much of that increase came from a non-cash revaluation of Lyken.AI, Alset's 90.1%-owned cloud business, which accounted for roughly 79% of portfolio carrying value. Alset itself cautioned that investments may not ultimately be realised at their carrying values.

Chief executive officer Adam Ingrao said the company has "worked to make Alset a more connected investment platform built around the commercial requirements of AI." The offering is expected to close around November 23, 2026, and will not be offered in the United States.

The signal: This is a small, company-specific financing ranking near the bottom of comparable rounds — not evidence of a broad funding trend. Against a Canadian AI backdrop that includes a newly announced US$366.7M federal growth fund, Alset's raise underscores the gap between headline sector momentum and the thin capital base of individual microcap players.
