UVU-linked startup Deload raises seed round for AI personal-training platform

What's the deal? Deload, a startup building an AI-powered platform for independent personal trainers, has raised a seed round from Startup Ignition VenturesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, the company announced in October. Terms were not disclosed.

What's the endgame? Deload consolidates training-plan generation, workout management, client check-ins, and payments into one platform. Its AI drafts programs spanning 12 to 16 weeks, which the trainer reviews, approves, and customizes — the trainer remains the "coach of record."

How it works. The workflow begins with a trainer's approach and a client's intake information. "Your approach. Their intake. Deload drafts the plan. You approve it," the company says. Trainers can then edit sessions in plain English, with downstream weeks adjusting automatically.

Why now? Both founders, Sean Frasure and Ethan Rasmussen, came through Utah Valley University's Sandbox entrepreneurship program and the Startup Ignition Bootcamp. The company — rebranded from Revyl — placed third at UVU's ZinnStarter pitch competition in April 2026.

What could go wrong? Deload is entering a market with established competitors including TrainerizeDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, EverfitDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, and TrueCoachDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. Convincing trainers to switch is hard: existing customers have years of client data and routines tied to their current software. The founders are building a migration tool, but its effectiveness at scale is unproven.

The signal: The round reflects growing interest in tech-enabled coaching. Gyms including Vasa FitnessDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, New York Sports Club, and HOTWORX rolled out AI training tools in 2026, and UK-based MAGIC AIDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → raised $11 million in September to expand its AI fitness mirror in the US. For now, Deload is an early entrant betting that AI built into the workflow — not bolted on as a feature — is enough to win over independent trainers.
