Try Dealroom →, a Brazilian edtech, has raised a US$307K (≈$241,000) pre-seed round led by Potencia VenturesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. Founded by Isaac Barbieri, Fernando Pinheiro, and Thomaz Albuquerque, the startup helps municipal governments pinpoint and address the causes of low learning outcomes in public school networks.

What's the endgame? Leme wants to grow from the roughly 20 municipalities it serves today to 100 by the end of 2027. Those networks span São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, and Sergipe. The round's capital will go mainly to its commercial, technology, and pedagogical teams.

How it works: The platform cross-references students' social data with learning information, helping education secretariats cut inequality among vulnerable groups, including Black, mixed-race, and Indigenous students. It also helps cities access VAAR, a federal indicator that rewards municipalities for improving education with equity.

The results: In Pilar do Sul, São Paulo, average proficiency rose 26% in four months, with the biggest gains among low-income students (+29%). Municipalities Leme supports are set to receive US$17.9M in 2027 federal resources, according to Barbieri. The startup reports 360% growth from 2024 to 2025 and expects 600% this year.

Why Potencia? "It was a major differentiator to have a business model focused on reaching financial sustainability by aligning incentives among different actors within public education," said Itali Collini, Potencia Ventures' lead in Brazil (translated from Portuguese). The firm has been building an education-for-public-schools thesis, leading a US$383.7K seed round for UpMatDealroom has a profile for this one. The signal: The round sits in the bottom third of edtech deals by size, but its significance lies elsewhere. Backing a B2G model targets the hard-to-crack public-school route that Potencia has said determines whether its education bets scale their impact — and whether Leme can convert ambition into public contracts.
