What does MyBenefit do? Its flagship product, Virtual Mate, uses 3D motion recognition to analyse joint movement and fitness in real time while providing AI coaching. It offers 579 exercise programs, including content for chronic conditions such as sarcopenia and prediabetes.

The money trail: The round lifts MyBenefit's cumulative funding to US$5.87M. It previously raised US$3.35M from backers including NH Investment & SecuritiesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, Korea Biotechnology Investment, and Bogwang Investment.

Why InBody matters: InBody, a leader in body composition analysis, enters as a strategic investor after the two companies were jointly selected for an AI healthcare R&D project under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. They plan to combine InBody's body composition data with MyBenefit's posture and fitness measurements on one platform, covering everything from the musculoskeletal system to blood pressure and grip strength.

Where it stands: MyBenefit has built traction across the public sector, including health centres, welfare facilities, and Seoul City's "Seoul-style AI Fitness Test." It is also pursuing exports to Japan, Thailand, and Singapore.

By the numbers: The round is modest by current standards — it sits in roughly the 11th percentile for deal size, scoring 10.8 against a value of 0.24. That fits a selective market: South Korean venture funding hit a record US$7.44B in the first half of 2026, up 54.3% year over year, but early-stage deal counts have fallen even as average round sizes rise.

The signal: MyBenefit was one of seven startups to announce rounds in the fourth week of October, five of them AI-focused, alongside larger late-stage deals such as lodging firm The Hyusik's US$54.5M pre-IPO. The mix points to appetite for AI-heavy early-stage bets and mature businesses alike — rather than a broad-based funding boom.
