BioSystems buys majority stake in US distributor Admeo

What's the deal? BioSystemsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has acquired a majority stake in Admeo, Inc.Dealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, its long-time US distributor, the companies announced in October 2026. Terms were not disclosed. In January 2027, Napa-based Admeo will be renamed BioSystems USA, with Margit Svenningsen staying on as chief executive officer.

What each side does: BioSystems makes laboratory analyzers and reagents used to test wine, food, and beverages. Admeo has distributed and supported those products in the US since 2013, serving wine and beverage producers.

Why now? The deal formalizes a 13-year commercial partnership rather than marking a new market entry. "Taking this next step together feels like a natural evolution of that relationship," Svenningsen said.

What changes for customers? BioSystems USA plans to widen its focus beyond wine to food producers and reference laboratories across the US and Canada. Clients will gain access to the full BioSystems range, from tests for sugars, organic acids, and phenolics to validated food safety methods, including AOAC tests for gluten and histamine.

What's the endgame? Paired with Steroglass, the combined group aims to offer an integrated portfolio spanning routine quality control to validated food safety testing. The pitch is broader coverage backed by local laboratory expertise and support.

The signal: For BioSystems, buying control of its distributor deepens a direct foothold in the US market. The move reflects a familiar playbook: a manufacturer absorbing a trusted local partner to tighten customer support and consolidate its sales channel.
