Garanti BBVA raises €400M in first DPR deal since 2019

What's the deal? Garanti BBVADealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → raised €400 million from international markets through a diversified payment rights (DPR) financing tied to its current and future foreign-currency payment orders. The deal carries maturities of 1,907 and 2,547 days.

Why now? It is the bank's first DPR financing since 2019, part of a strategy to diversify funding sources and strengthen access to long-term capital.

Where's it going? The bank earmarked €100 million for women and young entrepreneurs. Half goes to small and medium enterprises owned or run by women; the other €50 million targets micro, small, and medium businesses led by entrepreneurs under 35.

What's the endgame? "With our €400 million DPR deal, we are diversifying our funding sources while strengthening our international collaborations," said general manager Mahmut Akten (translated from Turkish). The DPR structure provides long-term funding while broadening the bank's wholesale financing base.

The signal: At €400 million, the deal sits in the upper tier of financings by size, signalling renewed appetite for Turkish bank funding tied to hard-currency receivables — and a route for lenders to channel capital into underserved borrowers.
