Alcazar lands €390 million in debt for 500 MW of Egyptian wind
What's the deal? UAE renewable energy investor Alcazar EnergyDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → Partners has secured €389.8 million ($437 million) in loan financing to build two wind farms in Egypt. The Niat and Rasgha projects will add a combined 500 MW of installed capacity.
How big is it? The debt package ranks in the top quarter of comparable raises, landing in the 75th percentile by size. For a single-market renewables financing, that scale signals investor confidence in the projects.
Why now? Egypt is drawing a wave of clean energy capital. In recent days, the European Bank for Reconstruction and DevelopmentDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → committed $221 million to Scatec's Egyptian renewables portfolio, while Infinity PowerDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and HAU Energy secured $566 million for a solar and storage project there.
The signal: Egypt is emerging as a magnet for utility-scale renewables financing, with lenders backing wind, solar, and storage at pace. Alcazar's €390 million deal adds momentum to a market attracting some of the sector's largest commitments.
