Renshuo Optoelectronics raises $15M Series B for perovskite solar push

What's the deal? Renshuo Optoelectronics, a Suzhou-based solar technology company, has closed a Series B round of US$13.8M, fully settled, led by the Jiangsu Strategic Emerging Industries Fund.

What's the endgame? The company plans to use the capital to fund future production line construction and research into core space photovoltaic technology. It works on perovskite solar cells, a next-generation alternative to conventional silicon panels.

Why now? Renshuo and two affiliated entities recently filed a patent for a monitoring system for perovskite tunnel furnace heating tubes, published on October 13. The system detects heating-tube faults early and issues alerts, aiming to cut losses and maintenance costs.

The signal: Backing from a state-linked industrial fund underscores China's continued push to build out domestic capacity in advanced solar technologies, with perovskite emerging as a key bet for the sector's next phase.
