What does NextGear do? It provides floorplan financing to small and medium-sized independent car dealers, lending against vehicle inventory. The firm is part of the Cox AutomotiveDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → group, which also owns AutotraderDealroom has a profile for this one. Why it matters: At $350 million, the raise ranks in the 93rd percentile of all debt rounds recorded in the UK, drawn from 2,761 deals. Floorplan lenders depend on securitizations to fund the loans they extend to dealers.

Why now? Investor appetite for dealer-inventory-backed debt has stayed strong. GM FinancialDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → brought two floorplan deals in May, and Yamaha Motor Finance's first $400 million floorplan offering in June reportedly drew more than $2 billion of orders.

NextGear is an active issuer. It renewed a $1.1 billion financing securitization in March, underscoring its reliance on debt markets to back dealer lending.

The signal: Strong demand for floorplan paper signals investor confidence in dealer credit, even as financiers watch dealer health in a higher interest rate environment. NextGear's oversubscribed deal shows the funding channel remains open.
