AllShield raises €250K to scale fire barriers for solar roofs
What's the deal? Dutch startup AllShieldDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has raised €250,000 in debt financing from 162 investors via crowdfunding platform Kapitaal op MaatDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. The company plans to use the working capital to meet surging demand for its fire-protection coatings for roofs, including those fitted with solar panels.
What's the endgame? AllShield makes a mineral coating that withstands heat up to 1,300°C, acids, and water. Applied to existing or new roofs, it stops fire from spreading beyond its source and can extend roof lifespan by decades.
Why now? AllShield’s AllShield Blue coating recently received FM 4484 approval, an internationally recognised risk-management standard. The company says the certification has driven a sharp rise in orders — €3 million in committed revenue, with a further €5 million in quotes under negotiation.
The loan carries 8% interest over 36 months and is secured by a first charge on AllShield’s assets, which the company values at €2,590,000 on its balance sheet. Founder Krijn Leendertse now holds a 9.5% stake, having brought in Hugo Noordhoek Hegt as chief executive officer to safeguard continuity.
The signal: The raise lands amid growing attention to fire risks from rooftop solar, as building owners and insurers look to protect existing roofs rather than replace them. Broader rooftop-solar deployment across Europe could widen the market — but AllShield’s payoff depends on converting test results and approvals into repeat orders from installers, insurers, and building owners.
