Partners Group raises $510M insurer feeder for evergreen private credit
What's the deal? Partners Group has closed a $510 million rated feeder vehicle for its private credit evergreen strategy, its second such financing of 2026. The capital came from a group of US-based insurance companies that invested in investment-grade and junior notes, with some also buying equity.
Why now? The close follows a $365 million financing arranged with Barings Portfolio Finance in January. Together, the two deals take Partners Group's total raised through rated feeders this year to $875 million.
What's the endgame? The rated feeders let insurers access private markets returns while gaining immediate capital efficiency and reduced capital charges, thanks to the fully paid-in nature of evergreen funds. Partners Group's strategy, launched in 2016, focuses on senior direct lending across non-cyclical industries in developed markets.
"We're excited about the near-term opportunity as we progress the creation of additional vehicles aiming to achieve the dual objectives of capital efficiency and investment returns," said Nicholas Hegarty, co-head client solutions Americas.
What could go wrong? The milestone lands against a tougher backdrop for retail-facing private credit.
Partners Group reported $4.2 billion in evergreen demand across its strategies in the first half of the year, while warning that industry redemption uncertainty could slow net growth.
The signal: Structured financings like rated feeders are becoming a key tool for scaling evergreen credit strategies when broader investor demand is uneven. The close is a financing win — but not by itself proof that appetite for evergreen private credit has recovered.
