What's the deal? French private equity firm MBODealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →+ has become majority shareholder of BHDDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a French specialist in high-performance PVC-based technical textiles, through its MBO Capital 5 fund. The buyout reportedly values BHD at more than €50 million, with MBO+ investing just under €15 million for a stake above 65%, though terms have not been officially disclosed.

Why now? The deal is BHD's second ownership transition in four years. Epopée GestionDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, which backed a management buy-in in 2022, is exiting, while CEO Arnaud Meynial and his team reinvest and long-standing minority investor Ouest CroissanceDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → stays on.

What does BHD do? With more than 50 years of expertise and over 3,000 clients, the group designs, fabricates and installs technical textile structures across 12 production sites in France and the Netherlands. It generates more than €75 million in revenue, employs around 390 people, and serves roughly 10 markets from aerospace and marine to agriculture and events.

What's the endgame? BHD aims to become Europe's leading processor of value-added technical textiles. The plan: strengthen its French coverage, expand internationally, and push deeper into defence, aerospace and naval markets, alongside targeted acquisitions in a fragmented European market.

The group has a track record there, having completed some 15 acquisitions over the past 20 years, including Dutch digital-printing specialist Printable in 2024.

The signal: This is more than a routine sponsor swap. It resets BHD's capital backing for a stated European buy-and-build push — though for now, the ambitions are plans rather than evidence of a broader consolidation wave.
