MB Funds buys majority of Finland's Gallant Group to build cross-border advisory firm
What's the deal? Finnish private equity firm MB FundsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → is taking a majority stake in Gallant Group, a Finnish provider of accounting, HR, tax and legal advisory services. Terms were not disclosed, and the deal is subject to competition approval.
What changes? Gallant's founders remain significant shareholders and stay in key roles, and current management continues to lead the business. The company says customer services and contacts will stay unchanged.
What's the endgame? Both sides want to strengthen Gallant's position in Finland and build an international, AI-enabled advisory group. The capital is intended to fund hiring, technology, new services, and further acquisitions.
Gallant has already started abroad. In 2025 it acquired Dutch firm Broadstreet, an Amsterdam-based specialist in international tax, payroll and financial services, giving the group its first foothold outside Finland.
Why MB? MB Funds has invested in more than 50 mid-sized companies over its nearly 40-year history. It cited Gallant's market position, entrepreneurial management, and ambitious approach to AI as reasons for the deal.
"Gallant has built a strong position in the Finnish financial administration services market and taken determined steps toward internationalisation," said MB Funds chief executive officer Kimmo Vanne (translated from Finnish). "Our goal is to support Gallant Group's growth in new markets, through acquisitions and by further developing its services."
Gallant chief executive officer Tuomas Tahvanainen called the move "a significant step forward" for the company (translated from Finnish), pointing to added resources for services, expertise and technology.
The signal: Finland's accounting-services market is fragmented and consolidating fast — AdministerDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → announced five small acquisitions in September 2026, and BalancoDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →'s purchase of Accotilit in August underscored the rising weight of technology investment. MB's backing turns Gallant into a platform for cross-border roll-ups; its payoff hinges on whether the Netherlands foothold and planned AI investment translate into sustained growth.
