Fundraise

ExponTech raises $15M for AI inference storage push

What's the deal? Chinese data storage startup ExponTech (华瑞指数云) has raised more than US$13.8M in a new funding round, the company announced in October 2026. Congbi Qiushi Investment (琮碧秋实投资) co-led the round, with a state-owned industrial fund participating.

What's the endgame? ExponTech builds distributed storage and data management products aimed at enterprise IT infrastructure, with a focus on self-developed, domestically controlled technology. It is channelling the new capital into WQS, a KV Cache storage product designed for large-model inference.

Why now? The company says the WQS project has entered production-grade testing and acceptance. The raise comes as ExponTech tries to extend its existing enterprise storage customer base into AI workloads.

What could go wrong? ExponTech has not disclosed the names of its lead backers or any WQS customers. Its commercial case hinges on whether WQS can move from proof-of-concept to sustained production deployment.

The signal: Capital is clustering around AI infrastructure and the inference layer. AI infrastructure firm Infinigence AI recently closed a US$316.3M Series C, and MemTensor, which focuses on AI long-term memory, raised about US$13.8M in a Pre-A round this year. ExponTech's smaller bet targets a narrower problem — the storage bottleneck in inference systems.
