VIA Outlets raises $206M in Swiss franc bond market debut
What's the deal? VIA OutletsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, the Amsterdam-based owner and operator of European fashion outlet centres, has raised US$155.8M (roughly $206 million) in its first issuance in the Swiss franc bond market. The senior unsecured fixed-rate green bonds carry a five-year maturity and a fixed annual coupon of 2.03%. BNP Paribas acted as lead manager.
Why now? The debut diversifies the group's funding sources as it expands. It follows a €500 million, seven-year green-bond issue in October 2025, which drew more than €1.8 billion of orders and helped fund acquisitions completed in January 2026 in Milan and Alicante.
What's the endgame? VIA Outlets will use net proceeds for general corporate purposes, including potential acquisitions of outlet centres, expansions, and redevelopment projects. In line with the company's green finance framework, an equivalent amount will finance or refinance eligible green projects.
"Our debut in the Swiss franc bond market is an important step in diversifying our funding sources," said chief financial officer Peter Stals. He credited "strong investor demand" and the success of the company's "3R strategy: remodelling, remerchandising and remarketing."
The signal: At roughly $206 million, the issue ranks in the 92nd percentile among all-time debt rounds for UK fashion companies. The bond opens a new currency channel and investor base — a sign that outlet operators are leaning on diverse debt markets to fund expansion.
