Edelweiss unit EAAA sets $127M IPO at $1.1B valuation, opens October 26

What's the deal? EAAA India Alternatives, the alternative investment arm of India's Edelweiss group, has fixed a price band of US$21.5–US$22.6 per share for its US$163M IPO. The issue opens on October 26 and closes on October 28, valuing the firm at up to US$1.46B (around $1.1 billion). Shares are expected to list on the NSE and BSE on November 2.

Who benefits? The offering is entirely an offer for sale by promoter Edelweiss Securities and Investments, meaning EAAA receives no fresh capital. It is chiefly a liquidity event for the seller, which, with the wider promoter group, currently holds roughly 95% of the company.

Why now? This is EAAA's second attempt to list after the Securities and Exchange Board of India flagged concerns over financial disclosures in its first filing. It refiled in January and won approval in April. The company cut the issue from US$203.7M after its promoter sold a 4.4% stake privately for US$50.9M in March.

By the numbers: Total income rose 23% year on year to US$130.9M in FY26, while profit after tax climbed 15% to US$36M. Fee-paying assets under management — more closely tied to management-fee revenue — grew to US$6.07B as of March 31, up from US$4.59B a year earlier.

What's the endgame? EAAA runs real asset, private credit, and private equity strategies, with real assets making up about 60% of its fee-paying base and private credit about 40%. Its limited partners include pension funds and insurers from the US, Canada, Europe, and Australia, alongside domestic institutions and family offices.

The signal: EAAA is only the third alternative-asset manager to go public in India in recent years, after Gaja listed in August 2026 and Nisus Finance in December 2024. The listing arrives amid a buoyant IPO market, though broad investor appetite does not by itself guarantee demand for this all-OFS offering.
