SendCutSend's valuation doubles to $2.1B in five months
What's the deal? SendCutSend, a Reno, Nevada maker of custom metal parts, has raised a Series B led by Spark Capital that values the company at $2.1 billion. CRV, MHS CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, Sequoia Capital, and Paradigm also joined. The round's size was not disclosed.
Why now? The $2.1 billion mark nearly doubles the roughly $1.1 billion valuation set about five months earlier, when SendCutSend raised $110 million in a round that Paradigm helped lead. That pace of repricing puts the round in the top tier of recent deals by valuation momentum.
What's the endgame? Founded in 2018, SendCutSend lets customers upload designs that it turns into finished parts via sheet cutting, CNC machining, and bending. Its clients include Waymo, Anduril, Relativity, and 60% of the Fortune 500. New money is earmarked for faster production and added capacity, not software growth.
Where it's growing: In May, SendCutSend pledged $1 billion over five years for US manufacturing jobs and domestically produced materials, including more than $250 million to expand facilities and open new hubs. It listed sites in Reno; Paris, Kentucky; and Arlington, Texas. Founder and chief executive officer Jim Belosic framed the strategy plainly: "I love taking VC dollars and putting it directly in the payroll."
What could go wrong? Investors have not disclosed exact revenue — Sequoia partner Andrew Reed described "nine digits," meaning at least $100 million. That leaves the $2.1 billion valuation's revenue multiple unclear, a gap for anyone using the round as a benchmark.
The signal: SendCutSend's leap reflects renewed investor appetite for physical industries. Eclipse, for one, raised $1.3 billion this year for funds targeting robotics, automation, and industrial technologies — and a metal-fabrication business repricing at an AI-lab pace shows that reshoring and defense-adjacent manufacturing now draw late-stage capital, not just software.
