Try Dealroom →, a Fort Myers-based firm specialising in accounting, audit and tax services for Florida's condominium and homeowners' associations. Announced on October 14, the deal adds eight partners and their teams and gives CRI its first office in Fort Myers, plus a second in Pembroke Pines. Terms were not disclosed.
What each side brings: CRI, based in Enterprise, Alabama, posted FY25 net revenue of $583.8 million and operates in more than 50 markets across the US and Mexico. Founded in 2003, Stroemer serves association boards and community managers with developer turnover audits, annual financial reporting, internal controls and forensic accounting.
What changes for clients? The Stroemer team will keep serving clients from its existing offices under the CRI brand. Founding partner John Stroemer will lead CRI's Fort Myers market as partner-in-charge.
Why now? Florida reforms require structural integrity reserve studies for condominium buildings three storeys and taller and limit owners' ability to waive reserve funding. That has raised compliance obligations for the state's estimated 50,600 community associations, second only to California.
The strategic read: Advisor Allan Koltin of Koltin Consulting Group called it a "2 for 1" deal, pointing to the specialist practice and a local leader in Stroemer. "Florida's reforms have raised the stakes for association boards, and they need advisors who know this work well," said Bill Carr, CRI's chairman and executive director of corporate M&A.
The signal: The merger extends an acquisition-led run since Centerbridge PartnersDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and Bessemer Venture Partners invested in CRI in late 2024, with deals added in Texas, Mississippi and California. Rather than chasing scale alone, CRI is buying niche expertise tied to a timely regulatory shift.
