Gambit, eight months out of stealth with $61M, lands on Greenfield's Disruptors 60

What's the deal? Cyber resilience startup Gambit Security has been named to the Disruptors 60, Class of 2026, Greenfield Partners' annual list of groundbreaking AI startups, unveiled at TechCrunch Disrupt. The nod comes less than eight months after Gambit left stealth with $61 million in combined seed and Series A funding from Spark Capital, Kleiner Perkins, and Cyberstarts.

What's the endgame? Gambit continuously maps an organisation's Minimum Viable Business (MVB) — the critical applications, data, and dependencies it needs to run — and proves it can recover as environments change. The platform deploys agentlessly within 15 minutes and generates audit-ready evidence for DORA, NIST CSF, and SOX, replacing one-off resilience exercises with continuous proof of recovery.

Who's building it? In August 2026, Gambit added Martin Walter, formerly of Rubrik and Zscaler, as chief product officer, and Jake Bernardes, former chief information security officer at Anecdotes and Whistic, as its own chief information security officer. The company has also shipped integrations with Wiz, Cyera, and Microsoft Sentinel, and partnered with AHEAD.

Why now? Gambit's threat intelligence team traced several 2026 attacks in which adversaries used AI to target backups, storage, or stolen data — the layers a company needs to recover after a breach.

"Prevention will always matter, but what happens after an attack gets through decides the ultimate outcome," said co-founder and chief executive officer Alon Gromakov.

The signal: Greenfield's picks have together raised nearly $6 billion, and most are under three years old. Gambit's inclusion reflects growing attention to cyber resilience — proving systems can recover — as a distinct discipline beyond threat detection.
