Life Science Connect buys CDMO sourcing platform BrevisRefero

What's the deal? Life Science ConnectDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → (LSC) has acquired BrevisRefero, a Toronto-based biopharma consulting firm and developer of RFP>Navigator®, a platform for managing outsourcing deals with contract development and manufacturing organizations (CDMOs). Terms were not disclosed.

What each side does: BrevisRefero, founded in 2017 by Terry Cochrane, advises biopharma companies from early development through GMP manufacturing and clinical trials. Its RFP>Navigator® platform lets drug innovators publish requests for proposals, manage NDAs, and compare CDMO bids across pricing, capabilities, quality, and regulatory experience.

Why it matters: Picking a CDMO is slow work. LSC says the platform can cut the time to move from a long list of potential partners to a qualified shortlist from six to eight months down to six to eight weeks — though that figure is the company's own claim.

What's the endgame? LSC already runs biopharma outsourcing communities and events, including Outsourced PharmaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, PharmaSourceDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, CDMO Live, and the CDMO Leadership Awards. BrevisRefero adds an operational layer, extending LSC's reach from supplier discovery into the selection process itself.

“RFP>Navigator® gives us an opportunity to help innovators save precious time and money they currently spend in a lengthy, burdensome process,” said Jon Howland, chief executive officer of LSC.

What changes: BrevisRefero's consulting business will continue alongside the platform, and Cochrane and his team stay on to work on its development. LSC first plans to expand awareness and adoption of RFP>Navigator® across its existing outsourcing audiences and CDMO Live events.

“We knew there had to be a better way,” Cochrane said. “Joining Life Science Connect gives us the opportunity to bring that process to a much larger community of Innovators.”

The signal: This is LSC's second outsourcing-focused acquisition in 2026, after it bought PharmaSource, CDMO Live, and related brands in June. With networking and discovery already in hand, LSC is now assembling a path that runs all the way to partner selection — consolidating the fragmented tools biopharma firms use to find manufacturing partners.
