Baba raises $40M Series A for Medicare patient advocacy
What's the deal? BabaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a patient advocacy startup for Medicare and Medicare Advantage, has raised a $40 million Series A, chief executive officer Connor Sweeney told Axios Pro. The round is a sharp step-up from the company's $6.5 million seed, led by General Catalyst and announced in February 2026.
What's the endgame? Baba describes itself as an applied AI lab that matches Medicare beneficiaries and their caregivers with expert advocates, physicians, medications, lab testing, and AI agents to deliver insurance-covered care across all 50 states. It says it has completed tens of thousands of appointments and partnered with health plans covering more than 4 million Medicare beneficiaries.
What's next? The company plans to be in market next year for a Series B to scale risk-bearing contracts with payers.
Why now? The patient-advocacy category is drawing meaningful capital. Rival Solace raised $130 million in a Series C in February, while Understood CareDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → announced $8.4 million to build Medicare-focused advocacy with AI support in March.
The signal: Investors increasingly see opportunity in pairing human navigation with technology and Medicare reimbursement. Baba's round stands out for its size at an early stage, but its significance will hinge on whether it can expand covered services and win durable provider or payer partnerships.
