Dat Bike raises $26M Series B as PIDG exits Vietnamese e-motorbike maker

What's the deal? Dat Bike, a Vietnamese high-performance electric motorbike maker, raised $26 million in a Series B, and early backer PIDGDealroom has a profile for this one. By the numbers: Dat Bike first raised $22 million in September 2025, then topped it up to $26 million at a second close in March 2026. That amount lands in roughly the top third of comparable rounds by size — a solid but not outsized Series B.

How it started: PIDG's InfraCo put $4 million into Dat Bike via a convertible loan in 2024, when commercial financing was scarce. The capital funded a new manufacturing facility, battery production upgrades, and product reengineering.

What it did: Over the loan's tenure, Dat Bike scaled monthly production tenfold and expanded from four stores to 70, creating more than 200 jobs. The company's electric motorbikes contributed to an estimated 25,000 tCO₂e in avoided emissions.

"PIDG backed Dat Bike when access to growth capital was limited and remained a trusted partner throughout our growth journey," said chief executive officer Son Nguyen.

Why now? Vietnam's shift to electric mobility is accelerating. The government is targeting all road vehicles to run on electricity or green energy by 2050, while Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City set up low-emission zones and curb petrol motorcycles.

What could go wrong? The market is crowding fast. VinFastDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has built a formidable lead, and traditional manufacturers are moving into the segment. The test for Dat Bike is turning its momentum into durable share.

The signal: The exit shows a development-finance backer can enter early, help a startup scale, then hand off to commercial investors — proof that Vietnam's e-mobility sector is maturing from subsidised bet to fundable business.
