Optima Health revenue up 60% to £96M as PAM deal drives scale
What's the deal? UK occupational-health provider Optima HealthDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → expects first-half FY27 revenue of about £96 million, up 60% year on year, largely driven by its acquisition of PAM Healthcare. The company bought PAM for roughly £100 million in March, and the latest half contributed a full six months for the first time.
What do they do? Both operate in the UK and Irish occupational-health market, supplying workplace health services to employers. The deal substantially expands Optima's scale in a fragmented sector.
Why now? The 60% jump reflects PAM's first full half-year contribution alongside continued underlying growth. It is not evidence of 60% organic growth on its own.
What's the endgame? The key test is turning scale into profitable growth. Optima is focused on integration, synergies, and deleveraging after carrying £94.4 million of net debt in March.
What could go wrong? High debt and integration risk remain the central challenges. By July, Optima said £2.1 million of annualised cost savings were delivered or underway against a £5 million target.
The signal: The headline number shows the enlarged business's scale, but value creation is unfinished. Net debt had fallen to £70.4 million by September, and management says integration remains on track — early signs that the bet is being managed, not yet proven.
