Plinto raises €2.9M pre-seed for AI agents that police invoices

What's the deal? Copenhagen-based PlintoDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has raised €2.9 million in pre-seed funding from People VenturesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, EmblemDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, and several angel investors. Its AI agents compare transactions against contracts, budgets, and policies, then act when they spot a problem.

What's the endgame? Plinto plugs into a company's accounting software, bank systems, and tools such as Slack or Teams. When it finds a deviation — an overcharge, a duplicate invoice, a missing delivery confirmation — an agent prompts staff, drafts a message to a supplier, or holds a payment until it is resolved.

Who's behind it? Co-founders Jakob Nielsen, Nermina Suljevic, and Sebastian Rehnby all worked at Peakon, the Copenhagen employee-feedback company Workday bought for about $700 million in 2021, as did chief technology officer Andreas Garnæs.

The idea came from a pilot customer's chief financial officer who doubted the dashboard data's accuracy. "Companies have systems that record every single transaction, but checking whether those transactions actually match agreements and rules is still largely manual," Nielsen said.

Why it matters: Human oversight stays central. "The human has control of what the AI does," Nielsen said, with agents set to prompt, suggest, or draft depending on the customer's preference.

Plinto, launched in early 2025, runs pilots in logistics, real estate, facility services, and food production. In one business area, its agents flagged about 430 issues a month, though the company has not said how much they were worth. "Many of our customers work with low margins, so even small errors can quickly add up," Suljevic said.

The signal: The round is an early bet on proactive financial controls, a layer distinct from invoice-matching or audit tools drawing fresh capital — Munich's FintoDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → raised $3.4 million in July 2026, and RepodoDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → €8.2 million in August 2026. It also underscores Copenhagen's rise as a hub for AI finance startups, alongside rounds like Spektr's $20 million Series A.
