The Hyoosik lands $48.8M pre-IPO round for branded hotel push

What's the deal? South Korean lodging-solutions company The Hyoosik has raised US$54.5M in a pre-IPO growth equity round from TS InvestmentDealroom has a profile for this one. The round, structured as a co-managed project fund, includes US$12.6M in secondary shares and lifts total funding raised to US$90.4M.

What does the company do? Founded in 2019, The Hyoosik develops and runs undervalued midscale lodging properties end to end — covering planning, branding, construction, operations, and IT. It has developed or operated more than 300 properties under brands including Aneuk, and its hotel-management software is deployed at over 1,300 sites.

What's the endgame? The company plans to invest up to US$83.8M through 2027 to expand into 3- and 4-star hotels, broadening partnerships with Marriott and Hilton. It targets a listing in 2028, using an asset-light model that focuses on management and operations rather than owning buildings.

Who's backing it? TS Investment has joined every round from Series A to this pre-IPO. VIP Asset Management committed US$16.8M of its own capital — its largest-ever direct stake in a private company — as it expands from listed-equity investing into buyouts and pre-IPO deals.

By the numbers: The Hyoosik posted 2025 consolidated revenue of US$152.3M and operating profit of US$17M, up roughly 91% and 93% year on year, with an operating margin above 11%. The company has reported operating profits for five straight years.

Why now? Korea's inbound visitors hit a record 18.94 million in 2025 while new hotel supply stays constrained by high land, construction, and financing costs. Seoul's room count has grown just 3.7% since the pandemic, a gap the company expects to widen midscale-hotel demand.

The signal: The round sits in the 26.8th percentile by size, a mid-sized bet rather than a headline mega-deal. But it reflects renewed investor appetite for hotel assets amid a supply crunch — and a test of whether The Hyoosik can turn midscale expertise into branded-hotel growth before its 2028 listing.
